3 November, 2008
TransSend, the payments solutions company, announces the successful live roll out of its payroll programme.

Vertlex Management, an Isle of Man based ship management company, has adopted TransSend's payroll card as the preferred way to distribute wages to sailors. Traditionally shipping is a cash based industry- this new prepaid payroll card will provide sailors with an easy and secure way of getting paid that allows money to be securely sent home; sailors choose how much money is uploaded to the card each month and how much remains as cash on board.  The innovative use of prepaid cards in this sector is proving very successful, over £600,000 has already been loaded onto the cards in this new programme.
